Actually the most cost-effective way to a steep learning-curve is to join your local fly fishing club; the Truckee Fly Fishers.

I wrote and article for the Sierra Fisherman magazine's Fall issue. If you did not read it, I'll e-note you the article.

FrankFrank R. I've been fly fishing less than six months now so I need all of the advice I can get! I have done two guided trips so far and can't wait to do another. While the updates and info I get online is excellent it is no substitute for spending a day out on the water with a guide. I was amazed I actually got a bite today on an olive rubberleg stone and soft hackle PT! I've seen some minnows swimming around as well, maybe the fish are filling up on brown trout babies???Idaho Fisherman 29https://www.blogger.com/profile/00206640455979344231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7053564017904440722.post-92177923009171022822010-04-08T19:21:02.592-07:002010-04-08T19:21:02.592-07:00Brian---thanks for the kind words.

I've seen a few skwalas through reno-- but mostly midges and bwo's have been what's hatching. March browns are few and far in between.

I'll be tying up some stones and some Green drakes and thinking of mid-june.

cheersBrian J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02194243514326404738noreply@blogger.com
